Kakatiya University [ KU ] was established On 19th August 1976. The Main Object of this University is to fulfill the aspirations of Telangana People for the Higher Education. The Kakatiya Univerity is located in Warangal, Telangana, India. As we know that the Warangal is a historical City it is ruled by the Kakatiya Rulers. It is a fact that founding the University a historic event that signals a new era in the kingdom of higher education of the Telangana Region. Kakatiya University was initially accredited with B+ grade by the NAAC in 2002 and reaccredited with A grade in 2008. Now the National Assessment and Accreditation Council have accredited with an “A” Grade on 12 September 2017.
Kakatiya University started its journey as Postgraduate Centre Warangal in 1968 under the guidance of Osmania University (OU) with only four Departments they are English, Chemistry, Telugu, and Mathematics. After that Zoology, Botany, Physics, Commerce, Public Administration and Economics Departments were added to it. Firstly in the year 1974 the B. Pharmacy course which was started by Osmania University and then shifted to Kakatiya University in 1975. Now for Undergraduates and Postgraduates, the Kakatiya University Offers 120 Programs of Arts, Commerce, Science, Social Science, Bussiness Management, Engineering and Pharmaceutical Sciences within the University and Affiliated colleges spread over four districts of Telangana State. Kakatiya University faculties include 248 teachings and 622 non- teaching staff.
